With a mobile driver’s license (mDL) or Digital ID stored in your phone’s digital wallet or a trusted third-party app, you may be able to move through select airport screening lanes faster and more securely. Today, mDLs are accepted at more than 250 TSA checkpoints across the U.S.
That said, it’s smart to travel prepared: always carry a physical, acceptable form of ID as a backup. Eligible mDLs must be based on a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, or an Enhanced Driver’s License or Enhanced Identification Card.
